Originally opened in 1931, Seattles Hotel Deca is a stylish 158 room full service 'boutique hotel' in the heart of Seattles lively University District. With its panoramic Seattle and mountain views and comfortable, well-appointed rooms and suites, Hotel Deca offers contemporary accommodations featuring art-deco motifs. Hotel Deca is 100 percent non-smoking and also features wireless internet access. A %242 million renovation concludes in January 2007 and includes improvements to the hotel lobby, grand ballroom, guest rooms, and building exterior. New furnishings and carpeting, new artwork, and a recessed martini bar will grace the lobby. Its hall entrance will exude a modern, neo art-deco flavor to complement the buildings original design and architecture. The contemporary furnishings and bright colors showcased in the hotels award winning penthouse suites will is carried through in its public spaces. The Grand Ballroom has a new look and feel (changes to walls, ceilings, doors), and receive upgraded audio/visual systems. Each guest room is appointed with new furnishings, upgraded lighting, cordless phones, and clock radios with iPod docking stations. Completing the look, the hotel exterior will be enhanced with treatments to complement the buildings 1930s art-deco architecture including awnings.
